Moving forward

It's great to hear your on the mend Nigel.
We missed you and your boots throughout the South Island. When your ready, and don't hurry, I'll take time out to show you the South Island from Farewell Spit to Slope Point.
Brilliant plan with the KTM. I too have a trail bike ( G650 XChallenge) for practicing the skills needed to handle the bigger machinery.

Now that I'm back home it's time get it out of storage and practice some more.

That's right, I tried to outdo your act half way across a stream crossing in the Glenfalloch Station. It was an aerial routine I had only performed once before but this time I pulled it off in front of a much larger crowd. Everyone in fact. It was all going so well; the clean dismount followed by a cartwheel over the handle bars, the half somersault with sort of a twist and then I stuffed up the landing completely. The judges were not impressed.

Get better mate and I hope to ride with you again soon,
Dave ( GS Boy)

  2. Ha ha...nice off on the bike Dave!!

Thanks for the best wishes I can report I am completely fine...still a little sore but fear any complaint will lead Justin to claim the accident only happened because I was looking at my (gay) white boots.

The 450 is for practice only and to get my basic skills (especially the down hill sections) developed.

I have to say I had an amazing time on this trip and hats off again to Garry and Justin for a life experience. The 'off' I had is also a fond and great memory...to walk away with only superficial injuries is great and I got to ride my bike out the trail which was my objective.

The bike is on it's way back to Auckland now and will be repaired...estimated $5k of damage (Ouch!!).

I am keen to stay in touch with everyone as I feel like I have made a lot of great friends.

My details are in my profile so please feel free to contact me anytime...and if you are in Auckland I always have room if you are up this way.
